There will be some more Bluff Biting taking place tomorrow, July 26th. There is a planned “traditional” start, which will start at the start (Guilford Lakes School). There is also a non-conformist start, starting at the Rockland Preserve. There may be a third starting location at the monastery. If everyone runs clockwise, we may never see each other.
First wave is planned (gulp!) for 5:30. That’s AM. Really.
Distances and enthusiasm may vary.

Flat-out lie

Word about the Bluff 50k seems to be getting around, but from feedback there is a hint that the course is perceived to be flat because it is in Connecticut. Well, I can’t claim that is has mountains or death defying descents but the term “… exactly what you think it isn’t…” really isn’t a bluff! Read more
New York Marathon 08

Master Po has devised yet another cunning plan! This one is geared towards the NYC Marathon on Nov 2, 2008, but by changing the dates it could be targeted towards another event.
A word of caution however, the plan assumes the runner has a reasonable base of fitness prior to starting the schedule. Notice that training intervals are based on time not distance, the objective is to increase the length of time on your feet in order to build endurance. Remember that the primary aim of your training is to get to the start line without injury. Training will not always be easy, it it designed to test you in order to adapt to the disciplines of your event, but don’t be afraid to step back if you become ill or injured.
Good luck!

What can I say except, what a weekend. It flew by, one minute we were sitting eating breakfast on the way up ( a particularly nasty bowl of dry oatmeal, I might add) and next I’m nursing sore feet on the 3 hour drive home. Read more

If you had trouble accessing the web site over the weekend of July 19/20, I am advised that there were technical difficulties that affected AT&T subscribers because of a router failure. I hope you can “see me now” without issue.
