Altitude Training

As Spuds and I hit speeds of over 100 miles per hour, neither of the guys following us seemed able to overtake. It was a perfect day, bright sunshine, warm temperatures and not a cloud in the sky. At just over 10,000 feet we were still lower than parts of the Leadville race course but altitude issues weren’t going to spoil today’s outing! Read more
Bluff 50k Entries

Word about the Bluff 50k seems to be getting around, but from feedback there is a hint that the course is perceived to be flat because it is in Connecticut. Well, I can’t claim that is has mountains or death defying descents but the term “… exactly what you think it isn’t…” really isn’t a bluff! Read more

I’m here to come clean. Sometimes, I feel guilty for not running with the pack. I also sometimes (more these days) feel guilty for not being at home with little Boris and Natasha as well. It is often very difficult to prioritize family and personal and work all at the same time. So difficult, in fact, that I often suffer from the dreaded “Analysis Paralysis” (which I’ve learned does not have to do with incapacitating oneself from the wrong end).
Fairfield Half Marathon and 5K

At least three regulars from the BS took part in the Fairfield road races on June 22, 2008. Clark and silentRunner tackled the half marathon, while Hardware ran the 5k event. Full results can be viewed here, but in summary: Clark 1:42:39; silentRunner 1:55:08; Hardware 24:06.
Hats off the Hardware whose finish placed her 2nd in her age group!
